The position

For this Pediatric Department, we are recruiting a Senior Physician (Oberarzt) in Pediatric Cardiology and Pediatric Intensive Care on a permanent full-time contract within a 32-member medical team. For suitably qualified candidates, the position offers a significant mandate (Gestaltungsauftrag) to organize and lead a dedicated subspecialty focus, such as pediatric intensive care, cardiac imaging, terminal heart failure including ECMO, VAD, and transplantation, clinical electrophysiology, or Adults with Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD/EMAH). Managing approximately 1,100 inpatients, 450 cardiac surgeries, and 500 to 600 cardiac catheterizations annually, this high-volume tertiary center maintains an agreeable on-call schedule across a roster of 10 to 12 Senior Physicians.

Board certification in Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine (Facharztanerkennung Kinder- und Jugendmedizin) required.
Subspecialty in Pediatric Cardiology or extensive background in PICU/cardiac care highly desired.
Opportunity to acquire subspecialty board certifications in Intensive Care and EMAH, as well as pursuing academic doctorate or habilitation degrees on-site.
Strong clinical ambition to shape a specialized sub-field within an academically active, high-end pediatric cardiology center.
