Chief physician (m/w/d)

The position

For this Pediatric Department, we are recruiting a Chief Physician (Chefarzt) starting January 1, 2027, as part of a planned retirement succession. Several years of leadership experience as a Senior Physician (Oberarzt) or Leading Senior Physician (Leitender Oberarzt) is fully sufficient - prior experience as Head of Department is explicitly not required, making this an ideal career step for high-potential senior clinicians. Managing approximately 2,000 inpatient and 7,000 outpatient cases annually, the department encompasses a Perinatal Center, a specialized Pediatric Diabetes Outpatient Clinic, a Pediatric Cardiology Panel Authorization, and an integrated Social Pediatric Center (SPZ). The executive appointment carries a broad mandate (Gestaltungsauftrag) to strategically evolve the department, actively encouraging the expansion of personal clinical subspecialties such as Pediatric Cardiology, Gastroenterology, or Neuropediatrics.

• Board certification in Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine (Facharztanerkennung Kinder- und Jugendmedizin) paired with proven senior clinical leadership experience.
• Strong visionary and organizational leadership capabilities to drive the strategic development of the clinic and establish specialized medical services.
