Lead senior physician (m/w/d)

The position

For this Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine in South Westphalia, we are recruiting a Leading Senior Physician (Leitender Oberarzt) representing the top clinical tier directly below the Department Head. The medical center operates as a tertiary care hospital (Maximalversorger) with approximately 900 beds across 29 specialized departments and serves as an Academic Teaching Hospital for two universities. The pediatric clinic manages 40 beds, treats over 7,500 pediatric patients annually, and runs an interdisciplinary perinatal unit in close cooperation with the Department of Obstetrics. This executive appointment entails acting as deputy department head while driving clinical operational management. Prior senior experience is required; a formal subspecialty certification is welcomed but explicitly not a prerequisite.

• Board certification in Pediatrics (Facharztanerkennung Kinder- und Jugendmedizin) along with proven multi-year experience as a Senior Physician.
• Strong executive capability, strategic mindset, and leadership skills to represent department management and optimize regional care workflows.
