Chief physician (m/w/d)

The position

For this Academic Teaching Hospital, we are recruiting a Chief Physician / Department Head (Chefarzt) to lead the Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine, starting immediately. The hospital operates 379 beds with approximately 685 employees. The pediatric unit features 23 interdisciplinary beds and manages neonatal care within a Level 3 Perinatal Center from 32+0 weeks of gestation. The clinical spectrum spans Nephrology, Gastroenterology, Pulmonology, Rheumatology, Metabolic Disorders, Neurology, and Endocrinology including initial diabetes education. Notably for an executive role, prior leadership experience is explicitly stated as desirable rather than required. Essential requirements include board certification, extensive clinical experience, a broad general background, and a subspecialty (preferably Pediatric Gastroenterology). The position offers relocation and childcare assistance, and explicitly invites candidates to bring along clinical colleagues.

• Board certification in Pediatrics (Facharztanerkennung Kinder- und Jugendmedizin) with solid clinical experience and a subspecialty certification, ideally Pediatric Gastroenterology.
• Leadership experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Executive mindset with broad clinical competence driven to assume total departmental responsibility and shape pediatric care.
