Senior physician in Pediatric Intermediate Care (IMC) (m/w/d)
The position
For a university tertiary care hospital, we are exclusively recruiting a Senior Physician (Oberarzt) to take clinical ownership of the Pediatric Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) under a confidential search mandate. This key role directly bridges general pediatric wards and pediatric intensive care. Responsibilities encompass defining admission criteria and clinical workflows, managing respiratory support therapies, providing advanced post-operative and post-ICU step-down care, and conducting initial triage and stabilization in the pediatric trauma/resuscitation room. Remarkably, this position features an open access threshold: It is explicitly designed for physicians with practical clinical background in pediatric ICU or IMC environments, without strictly requiring a formal subspecialty qualification.
- Board certification in Pediatrics (Facharztanerkennung Kinder- und Jugendmedizin) supported by practical clinical experience in pediatric intensive or intermediate care; a formal subspecialty degree is not required.
- Sound clinical judgment in acute step-down care, competence in pediatric respiratory management, and strong communication skills for university-level interdisciplinary teamwork.
