Senior physician (m/w/d)

The position

For this Pediatric Department, we are recruiting a Senior Physician (Oberarzt) for an explicitly defined leadership role within the neonatal units, featuring direct management responsibilities, clinical supervision, and resident training—with the rare flexibility of being available in part-time. The hospital operates a Level 1 Perinatal Center managing approximately 4,000 births annually and serves as a major regional tertiary referral center for extremely low birth weight (ELBW) infants from surrounding maternity clinics. The department comprises 64 beds, treating around 4,000 inpatient cases and over 20,000 outpatient visits per year. This appointment carries a strong strategic shaping mandate, allowing the successful candidate to establish or expand their own clinical focus areas. Outpatient practice can be structured flexibly via through the affiliated Social Pediatric Center (SPZ).

• Direct operational oversight of neonatal wards, mentoring of junior staff, and active participation in post-graduate medical education (Weiterbildung).
• Board certification in Pediatrics (Facharztanerkennung Kinder- und Jugendmedizin) with a completed subspecialty in Neonatology is expected.
• Full-time or flexible part-time.
